Having Trouble with Hard Wax? Cracking, Breaking, or Not Pulling Hair?

We know the frustration that comes when your wax just isn’t behaving the way you expect it to. Whether you're brand new to our products or a licensed esthetician with years of experience, the truth is the same: with a new product, following the product protocol is key!

Our formulas are carefully crafted for performance, but that performance depends on using the right heat, consistency, and application. Like changing a skincare line, even the most skilled hands need time to adjust to how a new product responds. This guide will walk you through the most common issues and how to correct them so you can get the best possible results every time.

If your hard wax isn’t working as expected, here are some simple steps to help:

  1. Wax Temperature Matters
Starpil hard waxes are some of the lowest-temp waxes available and are temperature-sensitive. Make sure the wax is the right consistency—too hot or cold can affect performance.

  2. Skip the Powder, Use Hydrating Prep Gel
Don’t use powder before applying wax. Instead, use Starpil Hydrating Prep Gel to cleanse and balance the skin for better results.

  3. Watch Our Video Playlist
We have a helpful video playlist with tips for each wax formula. Find the video for the product you’re using here: Starpil Hard Wax Video Playlist.

  4. Still Having Trouble?
If you’ve followed the tips and are still having issues, email us at support@starpilwax.com with a video of what’s happening. We’ll provide extra tips or recommend a better wax for you.

  5. Our Starpil Promise
If you have tried all of these tips and you are finding you did not have the best hard wax for your needs we will send you a complimentary 1-2.2lb sample of hard wax to try!

We’re here to help you get the best results!
